Metalized Magazine

"Remember Those Nights" sounds like it's lifted straight out of the soundtrack to every movie in the 80s. Magnificent sound, catchy chorus and a great guitar solo that could have been taken from any Def Leppard track from that era.

The vocals are also very typical of the 80s, something in between Richard Marx and Joe Elliott with the characteristics they have now. And the more times I listen to it, the more I get drawn back to the memories of my youth and when a song can do that, then for me you have hit the right spot."

BIOGRAPHY

Star Vision is a rock-pop act based in Stockholm, Sweden, founded by vocalist, songwriter and producer, Scott van Dort. Inspired by a wide range of ‘80s pop and rock influences, Star Vision was born out of nostalgia for an era when blockbuster films filled the big screen, guitar solos ruled the airwaves, and summers were epic enough to create memories that would last forever.

Star Vision released its debut EP 'Another Time, Another Place' in March 2023 featuring four songs that capture the spirit of yesteryear without irony or cliché. It was followed by 2024's 'Four More Reasons Why', mixed by Stefan Boman (Roxette, Opeth, Kent) and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Billie Ellish, Opeth) at Fascination Street Studios, blends album-rock, pop and touches of R&B. To date, Star Vision has received radio support from the UK, Germany, and Portugal.

Performing throughout 2024, Star Vision was invited to perform at the official afterparty for the Malmö Melodic festival, where fans from 22 countries gathered to watch top-tier AOR and melodic rock acts like Perfect Plan, DARE, Ronnie Atkins, and Remedy. The year closed with the release of 'When You Look at Me,' a live favorite that was celebrated with a release party in central Stockholm.

A child of the ’80s, captivated by rock and pop radio and the films of John Hughes, van Dort has spent a lifetime inspired by the magic of that era. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he has lived in six countries—driven by curiosity, ambition, and the belief that anything is possible—and now calls Sweden home. Though nostalgic at heart, he believes the best days are always ahead.

As the sole creator, van Dort builds each song from the ground up, with inspiration often coming from a sound or effect from yesteryear pulling him into a world where the past comes alive.

Before moving to Sweden in 2017, van Dort fronted LA indie-rock duo The Black String Theory, whose song ‘Too Late’ was featured in the closing credits for an award-winning Australian short film. While living in Los Angeles, van Dort also produced music cues for theatre productions, and composed music for ad agencies, including for the promotion of the film, A Good Day to Die Hard (20th Century Fox).

While writing and performing music, he spent over a decade working in the music industry at record labels and music publishers in both London and Los Angeles before developing a career as a copywriter in Sweden, writing for some of the world’s most iconic brands.

Star Vision will release new music throughout 2025, beginning with a remake of Lionel Richie's Running with the Night on March 21.

Step into a world where yesterday is today and the music never fades.
