Star Vision - In The Night, We're Free
'In The Night, We're Free' sees Star Vision move into darker electronic territory than previous releases, leaving behind the pop-rock and AOR of earlier material and instead blending synthwave, synthpop and retrowave.

About 'In The Night, We're Free'
'In The Night, We're Free' takes inspiration from the 80s film classic The Lost Boys, evoking abandoned amusement parks after dark, late-night city wandering and the quiet freedom of being together – alone against the city.
The song also has an unusual history. Its chorus was originally written for a track shared by US producer and artist D.O.O.O.M, following the pair's collaboration on the 'Destiny remix'. That song was never completed, leaving the chorus without a home.
Meanwhile, the music that would become 'In The Night, We're Free' began life as an instrumental set-opener for Star Vision's live shows. Following its popularity with audiences, the track was expanded into a full song with vocals, bringing together the instrumental with the previously unused chorus.
The completed 'In The Night, We're Free' continues to open Star Vision's live shows, this time with vocals, before being released as a single in June 2025. An instrumental version followed a month later.
'In The Night, We're Free' is also the only Star Vision release to date to have been mixed and mastered entirely by van Dort himself, making it one of the project's most self-contained productions.
